Another Great Project Completed in Surfleet

We recently completed a very rewarding project at a residential care facility in Surfleet, carried out for a long-standing client we have worked with on numerous projects over the years. It’s always a pleasure to continue the ongoing relationship and this scheme is another great example of the trust and collaboration we’ve built together.

We first attended site back in December and, after a few months of hard work (alongside some challenging winter weather) we successfully completed the project at the beginning of April. Throughout the duration of the works, we held regular meetings with both  the client and project team to ensure everything progressed smoothly and was delivered exactly in line with their requirements.

What We Carried Out

This was a full external works package, involving a wide range of elements:

Resin bound surfacing with block paved border
The standout feature of the project. The resin finish provides a clean, modern appearance, while the block paving border enhances durability and gives a sharp, defined edge detail.

Fencing
New fencing was installed to improve security and clearly define the outdoor space.

Turfing
Fresh turf was laid to soften the landscape and create a more welcoming, natural environment.

Electrical & fire alarm cabling
We completed essential service installations behind the scenes, ensuring the site is safe, compliant, and fully operational.

Sump pump installation
A new sump pump system was installed to manage drainage effectively and help prevent any water-related issues.

Parking bollards
Bollards were added to enhance safety within vehicle areas.

Trying Something New

This project also gave us the opportunity to trial a new sub-base system in collaboration with our resin supplier, Resin Mill. We used their Resin Bound Pro system, a modern polyurethane-based resin bound base solution designed to provide a strong, durable and SuDS-compliant foundation.

Unlike traditional bases such as permeable concrete or tarmac, this system offers a more advanced installation method, delivering excellent strength, consistent performance, and effective drainage properties.

Working Together

One of the key strengths of this project was the close working relationship with both the client and the architect. Through regular meetings and ongoing communication, we were able to ensure every stage was carefully coordinated and delivered to a high standard.

The Finished Result

Overall, the site has been transformed into a clean, safe and long-lasting outdoor space that improves both appearance and functionality. It’s always rewarding to complete a project that makes such a visible difference.
